A New network and support group has been formed to assist companies based in the Saltdean, Rottingdean, Ovingdean and Woodingdean area. The focus of the group will be to provide free membership, regular meetings and to further the success of its members.
The Deans Business Club is a non profit making support group for enterprises both small and large. The focus of the group is to help and assist businesses based within the area.
Founder Member Paul Yates-Smith said:
"I was aware that no support structure or networking groups were available to businesses based in the ‘Deans! To access this support you have to travel in the direction of Brighton or Peacehaven and beyond. None of these groups are focused on our area and rightly so, they are focused on where they are based. So I thought I would do something about it. We will be holding regular meetings and we are also planning to arrange social events for our members. Gaining contacts and support needn't be solely based on formal meetings, so these will have a sense of fun and may even be slightly whacky. This will help our members to get to know about each other and do more than just exchange contact details. Having formed just 4 weeks previously, at the second meeting over 30 local business people attended to support the initiative. No advertising was used to contact those that attended the first meetings. Proving that networking and word of mouth is vital. Over the coming months we will also look to invite other support groups to attend certain events."
Membership and support is growing daily. The response received has been fantastic and confirms that this is much needed in The Deans. It is free to join and attend for businesses located in the catchment area.
Regular meetings will held fortnightly on a Friday for members. Regular meetings will held fortnightly on a Friday for members.

“I put the Deans Club together after recognising that there was a huge need in the area for a progressive, proactive and supportive group. I am amazed at the positive response and rapid growth of the club within a very short space of time. Whilst I have been very busy with my own professional commitments it has been a pleasure to find the time to help local businesses develop. I have designed a unique event that will be Free and Fun to attend. Plus I am pleased to say that Crèche on location will be available to provide child care”. - Paul Yates-Smith, founder member and organiser of the event.
