- Friends of Telscombe Tye Conservation
Group
The Friends of Telscombe Tye group formed in early 2004.
It brings together of widely different ages, interests
and backgrounds from
Saltdean, Telscombe and Peacehaven, but they have one
thing in common: a wish to play a role in protecti and
enhancing the natural environment the Telscombe Tye.
They carry out specific tasks related to nai conservation
usually on a Saturday or Sun These tasks range from litter
picking to scrub clearance, reed pulling to flora and
faiin; surveys. Nearly all of the their work is carried
out on either the main piece of the lye, runni north from
the A259 between Saltdean and Teiscombe Cliffs or on the
E piece which is situated east of Telscombe
Village.

exhortations kindly included in the Easter "Link'
not a single volunteer came forward, but our members rallied
round and with support from within our ranks we've escaped
the axe and are thankfully able to look forward again.
We've just enjoyed what has become our annual visit to
Wisley Gardens, and are in the course of arranging further
outings and events during the summer. Outings and events
are being arranged throughout the summer. Bimonthly afternoon
meetings at Southdowns Court, Lustrells Vale from October

Our branch meetings are held at Southdowns Court, Lustrells
Vale on the 2nd Thursday of each month, starting at 2.30
pm.
On June 9th lan Gledhill will speak about the World of
Pantomime. The
July meeting will be our Summer Party. A break in August
will be followed by our Enrolment Meeting on 8th September
when we "sign up' for our wide selection of groups

look no further than the Saltdean Bowling Club where you
will receive free professional coaching. Why not give
it a try? The season started at the end of April and continues

Saltdean Bowling Club would like to welcome new members
who are already bowlers or who wish to take up the game.
Professional coaching is available for teaching beginners

Saltdean Arts & Crafts Club meets every Wednesday
afternoon from 1.00 - 4.00 pm in the upstairs annexe of
Saltdean Community Centre. The first session is free.
Afterwards the fee is 50p a week or £12 for a year.

from 1.30-3.30 pm. We'll have stalls selling a .The Open
